I received a wonderful honor this month from the Carnival of Genealogy. I was chosen Featured Author for the month of July for the annual Swimsuit Edition. I have never been comfortable tooting my own horn so to speak. So instead I am going to toot the horn of Jasia from Creative Gene Blog who hosts the Carnival of Genealogy each month.
If you are not familiar with the Carnival of Genealogy it is a monthly event hosted by Jasia on her wonderful blog Creative Gene. Each month there is a specific genealogy topic chosen and any genealogy blogger can submit a post to be included. Jasia collects all the submissions and puts together an edition of all the posts which are published around the 4th of each month.
This is a wonderful way to find new genealogy blogs in one convenient place. It is always so interesting to get numerous views on one specific topic. I find new and interesting viewpoints and helpful information in each edition. I have also always enjoyed Jasia's posts in between Carnival editions also. She is always so insightful and paints great pictures of eras gone by, a reminder of why I do genealogy and how important it is to preserve our past. So if you have not yet checked it out I highly recommend it. Pour of cup of coffee (or whatever) and get ready for some interesting reading.
A final note about this month's Swimsuit Edition. What do bathing suits have to do with genealogy? Well this is an annual edition of the Carnival where people share their photos of vintage bathing suits. A definite treat for all vintage photo lovers!
